Women by Men: Selected Works

   February 28 - April 2, 2005

The Lexington Arts & Cultural Council is pleased to present Women by Men: Selected Works exhibition at ArtsPlace Gallery now through April 2. This exhibition highlights the works of six local artists whose works deal with female themes and/or imagery. Photography, textiles, painting, multimedia assemblage and collage are all represented by the works in this exhibit. At once celebrating femininity and the feminine form, these works also comment on issues of gender and identity. Artists included in the exhibit are: Jim Brancaccio, James Baker Hall, Robert Morgan, Federico Pizzurro, Arturo Sandoval and Carleton Wing .

A reception will be held Friday, March 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Writers Block Hop, a Lexington city-wide event celebrating the Kentucky Women Writers Conference.
