Lexington Art Infusion Project

Lexington Art Infusion Project

The Lexington Art Infusion Project is supported by the Fay Slover Fund at The Boston Foundation and is modeled after The Art Connection in Boston, MA.

The goal of The Lexington Art Infusion is to create and place artworks in community centers and public service buildings across Lexington / Fayette County, KY.  The improvements will create a more inviting and richer experience for the individuals and families served by the centers.

This goal will be realized through three activities:

  • Facilitation of an artwork donation program from local artists to place high quality individual works of art throughout each center.
  • The creation of site specific works on the exterior and/or entryway of each center.
  • The center patrons will have an opportunity to participate in the creation of a large site specific artwork under the leadership of the artist selected.

Artist incentives to participate:

  • Artists will be provided materials or stipend for materials.
  • Artists will be provided free admission to a series of professional development workshops including a framing workshop that will help frame the donated piece (if framing is needed). Other workshop topics include:  marketing your art, Ask a CPA (tax assistance) and intellectual property rights.
  • Donated works will be displayed in an ArtsPlace exhibit during Gallery Hop before permanent installation at the center.
  • Artists will be celebrated at a dedication ceremony when the installation is complete.
