DESCRIPTION:On Thursday, October 1, at 7:00 pm, the Lexington History Museum, Blue Grass Community Foundation and the Lexington Justice and Legacy Alliance invite you to join community members, leaders, and partners to dedicate the soil collected at the June 20th EJI marker installation ceremony honoring the life and legacy of Robert Charles O’Hara Benjamin.\nImmediately following the brief dedication ceremony, we are proud to present a staged reading of, “Benjamin’s Victory,” an original audio drama from Michele Tyrene Johnson, probes the life of RCO Benjamin, a black intellectual, lawyer, journalist, and activist whose legacy and contribution to civil rights still resonates to this day.\nA light reception sponsored by The Commonwealth Institute for Black Studies will round out the evening.\nOctober 1 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM | Lexington History Museum\n \n
