Forest Bathing
Featured artists: Kurt Gohde and Don Ament
Apr. 11th – June 7th 2025
In early discussions about this Forest Bathing exhibition, Kurt said, “I’ve been carving wooden spoons for awhile. Wooden spoons are made of wood. You have many photographs of trees. Trees are made of wood. Let’s do something with that,” to Don. Thus, the title of the show was born, based loosely on the Japanese idea of Shinrin-yoku, the concept of therapeutic relaxation gained from time in a forest or natural area. Consisting of large-scale photographic prints of trees and wood-carved spoons, Forest Bathing by Kurt Gohde and Don Ament is a show that takes you right into the heart of the forest.
