On November 8, 2025, the UK New Music Ensemble presents Títeres al Baile, a groundbreaking interdisciplinary production that fuses contemporary music, puppetry, choreography, and theatrical design. This hauntingly poetic work features original music by Juan Trigos and a libretto by Juan Trigos S., exploring themes of mortality, ritual, and transformation through a surreal narrative where puppets become vessels of movement and meaning.

The project is a co-production with La Coperacha, the renowned puppet company from Guadalajara, Mexico, known for its innovative storytelling, visual artistry, and specialization in live productions of contemporary classical music. Under the artistic and stage direction of Antonio Camacho, this performance features choreography by Narciso Sánchez, visual design by Miguel Ángel López, and handcrafted puppets and scenic elements by César Camarena.

Under the direction of music director and principal conductor Juan Trigos, who is also the composer of the work, the UK New Music Ensemble brings this evocative score to life, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience the seamless integration of live contemporary music and theatrical performance.

Supported by LexArts, the Mexican Secretary of Culture and
the University of Kentucky School of Music, Títeres al Baile exemplifies the power of international collaboration and the transformative potential of contemporary performance.
