UK Opera Theatre presents “The Magic Flute”

Opera is back at the Lexington Opera House! Mozart’s timeless classic follows the adventures of Prince Tamino and his accidental sidekick Papageno, as they set out to rescue the Queen of the Night’s daughter, Pamina. But not all is as it seems along their journey. Armed with enchanted musical instruments, they are challenged through trials and tribulations as Mozart’s music carries them along their path of enlightenment vs. ignorance, and understanding the virtues of knowledge, justice, wisdom and truth and of course finding true love!

A wonderful tale for all ages so bring the family!

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Lexington Opera House is one of the premiere performing arts centers in the region. Originally constructed in 1886 after a fire had destroyed the original theatre located on the corner of Main and Broadway, the “new” Opera House, designed by Oscar Cobb, opened its doors on July 19, 1887. The distinctly 19th-century ambiance is one of the most charming features of the restored theatre. With less than 1,000 seats, the venue currently serves an average of 85,000 patrons annually and remains a premier cultural destination in downtown Lexington. The facility is owned and managed by Lexington Center Corporation.
