Singing in the Spirit: The African and African American Musical Heritage

Dr. Kathy Bullock leads a musical journey from West Africa, through the Middle Passage, to North American shores. Through songs, stories, and performance, this participatory program celebrates spirituals and gospel music as expressions of resilience and faith. Come ready to sing along.

Chapel entrance on Mill Street. Doors open at 12:30 PM. Free parking in the First Presbyterian lot on Mill Street. Limited to 80 seats. Free and open to all ages. Registration requested; donations welcome to support the Festival.
