UK Art Museum Temporary Exhibitions

10-5 (W-F) 12-5 (Sat)

405 Rose Street

The UK Art Museum is delighted to present seven original exhibitions this summer for visitors to enjoy, with works spanning paintings, photography, sculpture and more across various styles and concepts. Admission is FREE for all and there are also free activities including scavenger hunts for visitors to engage with. To book a guided group tour of the UK Art Museum, contact Curator of Education, Dan Solberg (dan.solberg@uky.edu). In our ground floor galleries, Ecstatic Personas features artists Carlos Rosales-Silva, Shannon Alonzo, and Jiha Moon, each of whose artwork, spanning paintings, sculptures, and ceramics, embodies a sense of transcendence, critically engaging with the transformative power of joy. Also in our ground floor galleries is Harry Gamboa Jr.: The Early, The Late, The Lost, which situates the fearless, outspoken artist’s photography in the context of his writing, fotonovelas, and video art, as he’s worked within activist communities across the ever-shifting landscape of East Los Angeles. These two shows are on view until June 27. Our upstairs galleries have 5 exhibitions on offer, featuring selections of works drawing from our permanent collection (see our website for more details). These upstairs exhibitions are on view until August 8.
