Rene’ Olsen is a multitalented self taught pastel/charcoal/acrylic artist- native of Copenhagen, Denmark now residing in the Bluegrass State ~Lexington, Kentucky. He found his passion for pastels in 2004 after taking a 6 hour workshop. Since then, that passion has grown and evolved into a style that fluctuates from realism to impressionism ~sometimes with a twist of photorealistic or abstract elements. From landscapes, pet portraits to still life pieces ~ Rene’ tends to paint series in regard to the exploration of a particular theme or image believing that each subject has a story to tell, and strives to capture that story in his art.
