MILL & MAX Arts Space at Lexington Shambhala Meditation Center
Exhibit Title
Brimstone & Velvet - paintings by Amanda Stiltner
Exhibit Description
Join us FRI night for refreshments during Gallery HOP & meet Georgetown-based artist Amanda Stiltner during our opening reception for her new show. In her vibrant and rebellious new show, Amanda Stiltner's oil and acrylic paintings pay homage to her roots that grasp the storied soil of her father's ancestral homestead in Brimstone, TN and her own Rustbelt blue collar upbringing. With the audacity to vividly depict folks and places commonly mistaken as ordinary in a decadently mystic color language, Stiltner's gathered works are a twisting, turning love letter – simultaneously blessing and breaking her Appalachian hand-me-downs. The exhibition will also feature select floral works by Ikebana master Brooke Pohl. Located at the corner of Mill & Maxwell Streets, we have FREE PARKING and are only a 2-block walk to the heart of downtown and other galleries. If you can't attend Friday night, visit our Virtual Gallery Tour at MillAndMaxGallery.com
