Lussi Brown Coffee Bar
Exhibit Title
Frank Leake Originals
Exhibit Description
On display until July 31, 2024
"As an artist I always give serious attention to the selection of materials and layout of my pieces. Often a piece will sit idle for many months if I'm unsure of its direction. The piece might also be reworked after several years, as I incorporate new materials and processes into my repertoire. However, the elements of collage remain fundamental and mirrors the need for structure and organization in my life. I am especially fond of materials with decorative and implied textural qualities. The resulting illusion is that of a surrealistic environment interspersed with impossible architectural forms. Building on this approach, recent works explore the relationship between the controlled man-made world and the randomness of nature. Paint applications are more liberal and free flowing; ambiguous shapes are predominant; the results are collages portraying the uncharacteristic qualities of paint." - Frank Leake
