Being Known: Identity and Expression of Fayette County Middle School Students

“People might assume who you are at a glance. Art allows you to correct those assumptions and express your identity. When words fail, gestures, symbolism, and cultural icons can fill in the gaps. The Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center is excited to announce its first Fayette County Middle School Art Exhibition. Submission to the exhibition is open to any student enrolled in grades 9-12 in a Fayette County school.

The theme of this year’s show is “Identity and Self-Expression.” Students from Bryan Station Middle, Jessie Clark, and Lexington Traditional Magnet showcase their artistic self-expression by thinking about who they are, what they value, their cultural heritage and traditions, and their place in the community.”
