Lexington Philharmonic, Legacy – The Perry Family

Due to the cold and rainy forecast, Saturday’s concert has been moved to an indoor location, 110 Luigart Court, Lexington, KY 40508. While we are disappointed to not be able to perform outdoors at African Cemetery No. 2 this Saturday, we are excited to present this program featuring works by Lexington-born composer Julia Perry and Florence Price. All are encouraged to visit African Cemetery No. 2 following the performance if weather permits, and explore their upcoming events here, including next weekend’s Tree Hunt and Identification as part of Tree Week 2022.

Join us this Saturday, October 1 at 4:00 PM for Legacy – The Perry Family, a FREE chamber concert featuring the works of Lexington-born composer Julia Perry and Florence Price in partnership with African Cemetery No. 2. Guest vocalists, Alicia Helm McCorvey and Whit Whitaker, will join a LexPhil string quartet  and pianist for this program featuring vocal and instrumental chamber works interwoven with narration about the life and legacy of the Perry family.
