Hairston’s debut collection, “Pretend the Ball is Named Jim Crow: The Story of Josh Gibson” will be released Feb. 6 from the University Press of Kentucky. It explores the Black American experience through the lens of baseball legend Joshua Gibson. Books will be available for purchase.
