The Kentucky Crafted Market
Take a break from Market shopping to enjoy our Hands-On Activities Area
In addition to seeing artwork from the finest visual and craft artists in Kentucky, visitors to The Kentucky Crafted Market, March 11-12 at the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena, can take part in several hands-on activities, presented by Kentucky arts organizations.
Art Center of the Bluegrass
Art Center of the Bluegrass connects people to art, culture and creativity. The organization fulfills this mission through rotating art exhibits, arts education for children and adults and regional outreach programs with a wide range of community partners.
Join Art Center of the Bluegrass to try Gelli Arts print making with a spring theme — the perfect art activity for the whole family.
Arts for All Kentucky
Arts for All Kentucky provides arts and education programs that allow people with disabilities to fully participate in the arts.
Join Arts for All Kentucky in the Hands-On Activities area to try painting with rollers. This is a fun and easy painting application to heavy paper or canvas boards. Participants can take away their own colorful, abstract design. The group will also be working on collaborative paintings that will become an exhibit in Arts for All Kentucky’s “Art on Tour” program that will travel to galleries, libraries and businesses statewide.
Kentucky Historical Society
The Kentucky Historical Society educates and engages the public through Kentucky’s history in order to meet the challenges of the future. Make barn quilt magnets in the Hands-On Activities area and share the history behind this unique Kentucky art form.
On the Move Art Studio
On the Move Art Studio is a nonprofit mobile art room created in a refurbished vintage trailer that travels to underserved neighborhoods to host free arts classes for kids in central Kentucky! Come create your very own horse to take home with you. All you need is paper, foam, and feet!
The Kentucky Crafted Market will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12. Admission is free, though there is a small parking fee at the Kentucky Horse Park. For more information on The Kentucky Crafted Market, visit kycrafted.org.
