Kentucky Watercolor Society: AQUEOUS 2021 Dates: August 16th – October 8th, 2021 In-person Gallery Hop: Friday, September 17th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Awards presented at 6:00PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Living Arts and Science Center is proud to host the Kentucky Watercolor Society’s annual juried exhibition Aqueous 2021, an exhibition/competition featuring watercolor and water-based media paintings created primarily by artists residing in Kentucky and surrounding states. This year’s juror is Iain Stewart (Opelika, Alabama) an award winning watercolor artist and a signature member of both the American and National Watercolor Societies. The exhibition will included an accompanying workshop present by juror Iain Stewart. Through education and exhibitions, it serves artists, collectors, and fine art enthusiasts, alike. The KWS is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization. For more information please visit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Day of the Dead Exhibition Dates: September 7th – November 5th, 2021 In-person Gallery Hop: Friday, September 17th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM The LASC’s annual Day of the Dead Exhibition brings together the rich visual traditions of this holiday that celebrates the memories of family, friends and other public figures. Presented in conjunction with our Day of the Dead Festival, this exhibition generally features artists of Latinx heritage or artists that make work in response to the Mexican celebration Dia de los Muertos. For this year’s Day of the Dead exhibition, the Living Arts and Science Center did a regional artist call for sculptural and 2d art work created to the theme of the Latin American holiday Day of the Dead. Selected art will be on display leading up to the LASC’s Day of the Dead Festival on Saturday, October 23rd from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be presented September 7th through November 5th, 2021.
